Trade Mark Paralegal
Location: Fully remote
Contract: Full-time
About Us
Our specialist Trade Mark department supports a diverse portfolio of clients. We are looking for an experienced Trade Mark Paralegal to play a central role as the team continues to grow.
The Role
You will work closely with solicitors, Trade Mark Attorneys and the wider IP team to deliver high-quality trade mark portfolio management across a range of clients.
This is an opportunity for someone who can work autonomously, contribute to the development of processes, and communicate confidently and professionally with clients and overseas agents.
Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of UK, EU and international trade mark portfolios.
Prepare and file UKIPO and WIPO applications, and manage related correspondence, renewals and portfolio records.
Draft, file and track responses to official correspondence, including examiner’s reports and office actions.
Liaise directly with clients and overseas agents regarding instructions, process updates and portfolio matters.
Conduct and report on basic and advanced trade mark searches.
Monitor deadlines and proactively manage matters using the trade mark management system. Experience of Equinox is desirable.
Prepare detailed client status reports and maintain accurate portfolio records.
Support solicitors and Trade Mark Attorneys on contentious matters, including oppositions, invalidations and cancellations before the UKIPO.
Contribute to the ongoing development of internal systems, processes and client-care standards.
Participate in team discussions on ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement and help embed best practice.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced — with substantive experience in a Trade Mark Paralegal role within a UK-based practice.
Proactive and autonomous — able to take ownership, use initiative and contribute to improving workflows.
Confident in portfolio management — comfortable managing trade mark files, registry correspondence and direct client contact professionally.
Highly organised and detail-focused — able to prioritise independently and manage deadlines across a complex, high-volume caseload.
Tech-savvy — experienced in using trade mark portfolio management software, ideally Equinox or a comparable system.
A client-focused communicator — with excellent written and verbal English and an approachable, professional manner when dealing with clients and agents.
A collaborative team player — willing to support colleagues and help develop the department, rather than simply maintain existing processes.
Process-oriented — interested in reviewing and improving internal procedures and client service standards.
The Bottom Line
This is an opportunity to play an important part in the next phase of growth for a law firm leading innovation in legal services.
You will join a passionate, supportive and dedicated team in an environment with minimal bureaucracy, where everyone plays a fundamental part in the continued success and growth of the business.
